Finalizing the Results

The two problems and their solutions which I outlined in the last section give a sense of the complexity involved in formatting this data into the six categories I defined. It seems that the great majority of the 4,959 entries are now correctly formatted and database-ready, but I certainly anticipate snags and imperfections to deal with on a case-by-case basis moving forward. Even if these imperfections number in the hundreds, however, that still leaves over 4,000 entries without major problems. The next step will be to convert the spreadsheet into a database using Filemaker, then to use the database as a launching point into some of the tools discussed in the class.
